Air Power East Celebrates Over 30 Years

Since 1991, Air Power East has been supplying air compressors to a wide variety of industries.

Now, based in Stanton, Air Power East’s Director Richard Sewell has been looking over the company’s time and how it has continued to grow and evolve with its customers’ needs.

The Story of Air Power East

Initially starting from Richard’s front room, he started the company with his former partner with the main aim to be the area’s main supplier for compressors and compressed air equipment in East Anglia. Quickly, the business outgrew its initial base and moved to a unit at Shepherd’s Grove Industrial Estate in Stanton. They then moved to an even larger premises as their reputation developed further and took on more staff. As well as supplying equipment, Air Power East also offers installation, servicing and testing services for this equipment, as well as 24/7 breakdown support. “We’ve built up a very loyal customer base comprising a huge range of industrial users – from the largest food production factories and plastics and packaging plants, to engineering companies and even your local dentist,” said Richard. As a member of the British Compressed Air Society and a premier partner of Atlas Copco, Air Power East is now a multinational provider of industrial air compressors and associated equipment. This means the business has access to a vast range of innovative products to meet the needs of multiple sectors.

The Future of Air Power East

Today, leading the business is Richard, his two sons, Anthony and Jason, together with Sales Director Kevin. Their team comprises a skilled group of engineers, installers and salespeople and they have shown great resilience after the last two years and the pandemic. “Despite the pandemic we have had two fantastic years. I’ve been so proud of my staff for the way they’ve conducted themselves and helped our customers,” Richard said. “They’ve been one fantastic team together.” After recruiting an additional engineer and a new service coordinator, they are looking for an apprentice engineer.
